Communion in the Mountains

While in Red River, all the family shares a church service together. It is a special, spiritual time because we are all the church, His bride, coming together to glorify Him. We all have a blood bond, but we all have a bond much deeper than that… a spiritual bond. Our spiritual bond will transcend this physical world and is more important than any DNA bond we share in this earthly life. We are of all denominations, but all Christians awaiting the groom.

The trees sway in the cool breeze and can be seen from our seats as we all come together to share in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. This symbolic ceremony is especially important to me because four years ago, my two kids were baptized in the river right outside the cabins. This is where they put on the Lord Jesus Christ and received the Holy Spirit in their heart. This was their first communion with all their family who share in the death of Christ and they began their life living for Him and being aware of his presence in every aspect of their lives. This communion means more to me because of these special events here on mountain by the rushing water. 

I don’t know if everyone feels the strong, spiritual connection to Red River as the four of us, but it is a special place that I yearn to visit all year long.
