The Common Thread: Your Only Hope is to Tie It All Together
If your knowledge about science, this world’s history (past) and the current circumstances (present) leaves your tomorrow (future) hopeless, lost, angry, confused and frustrated, then you have not found the common thread that runs through it all.
When you find the common thread, peace that transcends all understanding will wash over your soul flooding you with joy, contentment and satisfaction.
Science is knowledge about the natural world based on facts learned through observation and experimentation.
All sciences are not independent of one another. Each one affects the others. Not one can be eliminated without repercussions on the others. There is a common thread that ties them all together. Do you know what it is? Can you tie them all together?
History is the study of events in the past. It is impossible to understand it. We can never know the motivation for why people did what they did. Media is skewing many historical events lately to make them not so offensive, like they did not happen or they were not as bad as they seemed. However, from the very beginning of the earth, there has been a story unfolding that, when studied in it’s entirety, makes perfect sense. Do you know what the thread is? A common thread can be followed all along the way right up to the current situations (present) including your life.
The present is just as tough to navigate. We do not know the why’s to people who hurt us, sickness, natural disasters that take lives or crazy people who yield bombs or guns.
The future seems out of reach in our physical state. Most decisions are probably not made with the future in mind. There is a way to follow the thread into tomorrow. There is certainty in future events that also make perfect sense when you tie it all together. Do you even know what the thread is to take hold of?
The cords are called trust and faith. We must trust that God is reliable, good, honest and effective. We cannot trust in ourselves or others. I let myself down all the time. Others let me down to. I know that is your experience also. No matter what we think, God has never let us down. Just because we don’t understand, does not mean He is not working out his best plan for us. Hebrews describes faith perfectly in 11:1: Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Just because the beginning of a cord cannot be seen in either direction from our present state, does not mean these things are independent from one another. Alter one and the others are effected. And just like you cannot have the middle of a cord independent of a beginning or an end, you cannot separate past, present and future from your life and make it independent of science and the heavenly workings going on that we cannot even comprehend. Just because we cannot see it does not mean things are not working behind the scenes in our favor.
Tie trust and faith together around your heart and hold on tightly even when you do not understand. It is the only way you will make it through this life to see the glory that lies beyond.
