Read Romans 16:1-16
Title in NIV: Paul's commendation of Phoebe; Paul's praise and greeting to the saints in Rome.
Would your name have been on Paul's list of people he commended? He commends servants of the church. Are you one? He commends fellow workers in Christ Jesus. Are you one? He commends deaconesses. Are you one? He commends disciples. Are you one? He commends believers. Are you one? He commends saints. Are you one?
Let's see...servant is a person devoted to another. Are you in that category?
Deacon is a servant, charged with the affairs of the church not having to do with worship; also I found it could be a woman given authority to work in a church related agency or hospital. (Male or female) Are you in that category?
Disciple: a pupil of any teacher or school of religion, learning, art etc., an early follower of Jesus. (Male or female) Are
you on that category?
Believer: one who has religious faith, one who trusts in what is true, real, good etc., one who has confidence in a promise or statement of another. Are you in that category?
Saint: in the New Testament a saint is any Christian, a holy person who is exceptionally meek, charitable, patient etc. (Male or female) Are you in that category?
What titles can you tack on to yourself that you want to keep? What titles do you have that you want to get rid of such as lazy, prideful, unforgiving etc. Think about it!
