Help Show People Their Spiritual Future With Christ

Read Romans 7:1-6
Theme: Salvation available to all by faith.
Title in NIV: A better way to serve God is explained.

What is a better way to serve God (answer to title)? I believe it is a spiritual way, a heaven-focused way, a Christ-focused way to serve God and not a earthly, self-focused way. What does a spiritually minded Christian do? We are told in Jude 22-23 to be merciful to those who doubt, snatch others from the fire and save them, to show mercy, mixed with fear...  Proverbs 24:11 says rescue those being led away to death, hold back the stragglers toward slaughter. Psalm 82:4 says rescue the weak and needy, deliver them from the hand of the wicked. When we try to snatch people away from the fire and rescue people from death, we are thinking of their spiritual future. What hinders us from snatching people away from the enemy? We might be concerned about being rejected or seen as an outcast or bible beater or we get scared of what God will require of us when we start stepping out for him. We need to pray about these fears.

Paul uses a human situation so the people can relate in vs 2-3. It reminds me of Jesus and the parables he told so people can relate.  Paul says a woman is bound to her husband like a Christian should be bound to Christ. Since we are bound to Christ spiritually, we are dead to earthly sin. We are alive in Christ. Romans 6:5 says we share in his death and resurrection.  As the woman is being an adulteress when she puts another man before her husband, when we put things before Christ, we too are adulteresses to another master. Revelation tells the church in Thyatira that they are adulterating themselves to sexual immorality, food sacrificed to idols. Basically they are putting cultural things before God, detestable things that God hates. And others are tolerating this even if they don't participate. Let us be so in tune with Christ, that we recognize what we tend to put in place of God.

On earth if the husband dies the woman is released from the law. With Christ (spiritual) we die to become one with Him. He becomes our heavenly husband. The Church is Christ's bride (Mt. 25:1-13, John 3:29).Our goal is to acquire the spiritual husband promised. Since we belong to him we should bear fruit. Use your talent, speak of your faith to others, don't hide it. Make your faith attractive so people will see you and say, "I want what they have. I want the peace, joy and hope I see in them."  Our goal should be to grow God's kingdom by snatching people away from Satan's grasp and showing them their spiritual future with Christ. He does not want anyone to perish 2Peter 3:9.
